Safehouse Coffee Roasters has been roasting and brewing Specialty Coffee in our own retail environments since 2004. In that time we have learned what to do, and what not to do in small hometown coffee communities as well as busy high volume programs. We'd like to give you access to this experience to start your new coffee business.
Derek and Susan of Chris Cross Coffee in the foyer of Atlanta Dream Center Church chose a Safehouse designed espresso program and batch brew system to accommodate the volume we anticipated before Sunday morning service.
In 2014 we felt the calling to open a coffee shop at the Atlanta Dream Center. The mission was clear... allow God to harness the pain we had endured through the loss of our son to his addictions towards building something that would bring community to our church, bring sustainable resources to the Atlanta Dream Center's urban missions and to ultimately develop a jobs program. While the mission was clear, how to make all of that happen was absolutely not! We knew nothing about building and running a coffee shop. It all seemed very overwhelming!
Enter Safehouse Coffee Roasters! These guys held our hands from the idea phase, through launch and beyond. At no time did we ever feel like they were trying to sell us anything. It has always felt like they simply want to support us so we can reach our dream. All the things we didn't know about the coffee business, they did!! In fact, I sometimes refer to them as our coffee scientists!
They helped select the best location within our facility, completed the design of the bar down to the last detail, sourced/installed/tested all our equipment, provided detailed information regarding every item of small-ware that would be needed to run the shop, trained us on how to run all of the gear, helped define our menu and became our source for some of the finest roasted coffee available. Hunt Slade and Jacob Orr are true professionals, who share our vision and have always been readily available for anything we've needed.... and we've needed a lot!! I am thankful for the fact that Safehouse Coffee Roasters helped make Chris Cross Coffee a reality!!!
